Crossing the Chasm: Towards common Software Infrastructure for Earth System Model development.
An IS-ENES2 workshop.
An IS-ENES2 workshop.
A meeting supported by IS-ENES2
ES-DOC is organising a coding sprint to finalise the CMIP6 documentation process Nov 8-10 at Reading University. The meeting is co-sponsored by IS-ENES2.
A 2nd workshop on the technical development of the Earth System Evaluation Tool (ESMValTool, Eyring et al. [2016b]) will be held at the Ludwig‐Maximilians‐Universität München (LMU) in the Department of Geography from 15‐16 November 2016.
Deutsches Klimarechenzentrum (DKRZ) and Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology (MPI-M) are organising in collaboration with EU funded projects IS-ENES2 and ESiWACE (Centre of Excellence in Simulation of Weather and Climate in Europe) a series of talks on Innovation Technologies in HPC.
IS-ENES2 final General Assembly will take place in January 2017 in Paris. It will be the opportunity to prepare the last periodic report as well as the final report and discuss the future of the infrastructure.
This workshop is jointly organised by the NEMO system team and the IS-ENES2 project to analyse and discuss the preliminary results of NEMO in CMIP6.
NEMO has, with great success, brought together the West European ocean model development community to produce one of the few leading ocean modelling tools in the world. Yet regarding sea ice, there has not been a common development strategy, leading to duplications and to a waste of manpower, at the expense of scientific activities.
This workshop is related to WP3 activity. The goal is to facilitate the integration and future maintenance of the growing number of COSP modules that are currently under development.
The Fourth Workshop on Coupling Technologies for Earth System Models (CW2017) will be held on the 20th-22nd of March, 2017 at the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science on the campus of Princeton University, USA. IS-ENES2 contributes to the organisation of this workshop as part of activity carried out in WP3.
